I AM ADDICTED TO THESE SONGS LATELY.....

Songwriters: ALLEN, MARC EDWIN / BARCALOW, NATHAN / DOHERTY, DEREK / LINARES, ALEJANDRO M. / STROHMEYER, RANDY

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep

'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance

A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
A disco ball is just hanging by a thread

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
When I fall asleep

Leave my door open just a crack
(Please take me away from here)
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac
(Please take me away from here)
Why do I tire of counting sheep
(Please take me away from here)
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep

To ten million fireflies
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell

But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
When I fall asleep

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
When I fall asleep

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams

........it's FIREFLIES by OWL CITY

Songwriters: JONES, DANIEL/HAYES, DARREN STANLEY

When superstars and cannonballs are running through your head
And television freak show cops and robbers everywhere
Subway makes me nervous people pushing me too far
I've got to break away
So take my hand now

'Cause I want to live
Like animals
Careless and free
Like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair and the sand at my feet...

I've been having difficulties keeping to myself
Feelings and emotions better left up on the shelf
Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie
Which one is more human
There's a thought, now you decide

Compassion in the jungle
Compassion in your hands, yeah...
Would you like to make a run for it
Would you like to take my hand,...
Yeah...

'Cause I want to live
Like animals
Careless and free
Like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair and the sand at my feet...

Sometimes this life can get you down
It's so confusing
There's so many rules to follow

And I feel it
'Cause I just run away in my mind...

Superstars and cannonballs running through your head
Television freak show cops and robbers everywhere
Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie
Which one is more human
There's a thought, now you decide

Compassion in the jungle
Compassion in your hands, yeah
Would you like to make a run for it
Would you like to take my hand...
Yeah...

'Cause I want to live
Like animals
Careless and free
Like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair and the sand at my feet...

'Cause I want to live
Like animals
Careless and free
Like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair... yeah...

I want to live
I want to live
I want to live
Like animals
I want to live
Like animals
Oh no Oh no
Like animals
Oh no...

Cause I don't feel it
Like animals
I don't feel it noi...
Like animals
I don't feel it
Like animals
I don't feel it
Like animals
I don't feel it no...
Like animals

.......it's THE ANIMAL SONG by SAVAGE GARDEN

Songwriters: Austin, Dallas L / Watkins, Tionne Tenese

I know I'm kinda strange, to you sometimes
Don't always say, what's on my mind
You know that I've been hurt, by some guy
But I don't wanna mess up this time

[bridge]
And I really really really care
And I really really really want you
And I think I'm kinda scared
Cos I don't want to lose you
If you really really really care
Then maybe you can hang through
I hope you understand
It's nothing to you

[chorus]

My heart's at a low
I'm so much to manage
I think you should know that
I've been damaged
I'm falling in love
There's one disadvantage
I think you should know that I've been damaged

I might look through your stuff, for what I don't wanna find
Or I might just set you up, to see if you're all mine
I'm a little paranoid, from what I've been through
Don't know what you got yourself into

And I really really really care (and I care about you so much)
And I really really really want you (I really do want you)
And I think I'm kinda scared (but I'm scared with every touch)
Cos I don't want to lose you (cos I don't want to lose you)
If you really really really care (if you care for me like you say)
Then maybe you can hang through (then maybe you can hang through)
I hope you understand (I hope you understand)
It's nothing to you (it's nothing to you, you)

My heart's at a low (low)
I'm so much to manage
I think you should know that (I think you should know)
I've been damaged
I'm falling in love (I'm falling in love)
There's one disadvantage
I think you should know that I've been damaged (I think you should know that)

My heart's at a low
I'm so much to manage (I'm so much to manage)
I think you should know that (I think you should know that)
I've been damaged (I've been damaged)
I'm falling in love (I love you so)
There's one disadvantage (I love you so)
I think you should know that I've been damaged

And I really really really want you
And I think I'm kinda scared
Cos I don't want to lose you
If you really really really care
Then maybe you can hang through
I hope you understand
It's nothing to you (it's nothing to you)

My heart's at a low
I'm so much to manage
I think you should know that (ooh I think you should know I've been damaged)
I've been damaged (I've been damaged baby)
I'm falling in love (falling in love with you baby, yeah)
There's one disadvantage
I think you should know that I've been damaged

My heart's at a low
I'm so much to manage
I think you should know that
I've been damaged
I'm falling in love
There's one disadvantage
I think you should know that I've been damaged

VOTE INTELLIGENTLY

Next to Religion, Politics is the other topic I believe that is undebatable, I mean a non-stop conversation of good and bad. It is like you do not really know where to start, how to begin, what to expect and worst - who to vote. And as the election date fast approaching (i.e. May 13, 2013), Please ponder on the following concerns:

  1. The government was/is/will deduct taxes from our salaries and with that being said ALL OF US MUST VOTE INTELLIGENTLY.
  2. This is not the time to use your "instinct" as they mostly say because you have to really take time in reading their "plataporma" or the bill that they will prioritize once they were given a seat.
  3. Look/examine ( I mean "google") their track record. History mostly repeats itself.
  4. Discuss among colleagues, teachers, friends, etc. on each others points-of-view.
  5. Come election day, DO NOT get distracted by the candidates "last-minute-supporters-campaigning". Have a list ready and be in line patiently.
  6. On voting local candidates - LOOK AT YOUR CITY. Enough said.
Here's MY personal preferences. Nope, I won't be mentioning any "proper nouns" (if you know what I mean) just some adjectives and verbs.

  • I am against PORK BARREL. Aside from I don't really like the sound of it which will be a queue for not liking it but also I don't like the idea of someonesssss getting my money (tax deductions and all) and spending it luxuriously because noones auditing it.
  • I would rather watch candidates express their views and opinions on live television than shaking their hands and hearing their campaign jingles.
  • POLITICAL DYNASTY is not on my vocabulary.
Lastly, this is for him and I will make sure it is really FOR HIM.

ACCEPTED. A Movie Review.

Dear College Students,
(...and for us who're done with it too!)

I don't know how many of you are feeling the same way as I am about to burst out, hihihi (duh?! not the one that you're thinking, silly!)
  • Wishing that you hear - "What do you want to learn?" instead of "You will learn...." from the admin staff that interviews you in college. (In that way the admin can help what course you should be in.)
  • Trap in the course that your parent/s think that will land you a job after college instead of a course that you really like. (Dude, first bullet is not applicable to you.)
  • Ditch written exams and have a hands-on/application exams instead. 1 and  I mean just ONE major exams would be a good compromise. (Do I hear an "AMEN"?)
  • Defense should NOT be done in groups. Like, C'mon! Not all group member/s are working their ass off eh. (It's about time.)

Though I am not really a fun of comedy film, this one is worth the download. Do yourselves a favor - sit down, watch this, enjoy the laughs & think of the unconventional lessons you might encounter.

The Mediocre Travellers

We are a family of "backpackers". We don't have the luxury of traveling with our own car simply because we don't have one BUT this fact doesn't stop us from taking our usual annual summer trip, this time in Laiya, Batangas. It takes  a patient surfing online and planning to have a cheap and a satisfied vacation for your family.

Here are my few tips:
  • Plan around your budget not otherwise. Entertain minimal compromises so that the rest of the month's money allocation will be intact. (Ang hirap ng nagpapakasaya pero wala na palang kakainin pag-uwi nyo or wala ng pambayad ng kuryente)
  • Printout the rides and its corresponding fare of your destination and search all possible cheap public yet convenient transportation available like fx and vans. (Cheap pero comfortable)
  • Invest on a 1) quality 2) waterproof & 3) spacious backpacks. Without sacrificing the style, of course *wink *wink

I fell in love with our very own "bahay kubo" for a 3D/2N stay on the resort. A haven for the privacy-obsessed individuals like us. A rest from the apartment-type rooms on most of the resorts.

This is the view from the balcony. It has a separate door. Early in the morning.

The view below. See the bidet strategically place at the bottom of the stairs for rinsing? Good job.

The recreations.

There's also a billiard table, beach volleyball facility & table tennis.

And a swimming pool. A break from the ocean ripples.

And did I mentioned that the package includes food and I mean delicious succulent food.

For more details visit their website http://laiyacocogrove.com/ Ms. Malou and Ms. Santa will be more than happy to entertain your inquiries.

Enjoy!

Steven Paul Jobs (1955 - 2011)

I was first acquainted with Macintosh when I met my husband - Stephen. Since then I got very very very interested with the man behind the Apple. His work, how he made our life easier was exceeding every person's goal and vision and mission in life. How he turn the non-techie individuals to gadget enthusiast. How the color white can be associated to cleanliness and clarity.  How everyone will never get to be satisfied with the version of phone or whatever gadget they possess. How I wanted to have a MacBook Air,  Iphone4 and Ipad2. How he can do so much more, more, a lot more. Now, everything will be written in past tense about him but never his innovations.

The story behind Apple's logo:

From an interview with Rob Janoff, the original designer of Apple’s logo…
I’m probably the least religious person, so Adam and Eve didn’t have anything to do with it. The bite of knowledge sounds fabulous, but that’s not it.…
[W]hen I explain the real reason why I did the bite it’s kind of a let down. But I’ll tell you. I designed it with a bite for scale, so people get that it was an apple not a cherry.…
It was after I designed it, that my creative director told me: “Well you know, there is a computer term called byte.” And I was like: “You’re kidding!”

LIBERA

There are 2 genres of music I am addicted with - Chants & Trance (and anything closest to it). Chants releases my soul while Trance is my natural high. Both can de-stress me, it depends on my current state & mood on whether it will be Tiesto or Libera. I just wanted to share the peacefulness I feel everytime I lay down, close my eyes & put on my headset. "LIBERA" - These are angels singing.

Here's their video for "You were there":

WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T DO AFTER A BREAK-UP

1. DO NOT CALL YOUR EX.
Do not call your ex and beg for him to reconsider. He has made a decision and you must respect it. It is also wrong to call him at 2 in the morning and hang up or pretend you are someone else. He would know that it's you. So to leave yourself some pride and prevent making a big fool out of yourself, just don't make that tempting call.

2. DO NOT OVER INDULGE IN WALLOWING.
While you are expected to hide and cry until your eyes get ugly and puffy, you need to spring back to life. You can't risk losing your job or missing out on the most important events in the lives of your family and friends because of this episode. There's life after your break-up with him. Think positive and you'll be alright.

3. DON'T SPREAD UGLY RUMORS ABOUT YOUR EX.
He has hurt you so bad and you want to tell the world how big of a swine he is, but remember that you're an educated person. Resist the temptation to spread nasty things about him. You've shared good times with him. No matter how nasty the relationship ended, he still deserves to be respected.

4. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY SEE YOUR EX.
Did you actually believe that you'll never bump into your ex ever again? It's a small world! What you can do when you see him is keep your composure and confidence. Give him your best smile. He will marvel at how fast you recover.

5. DON'T LOSE YOUR SELF-ESTEEM.
Just because you got dumped doesn't mean you aren't smart nor attractive. Keep your head high! There are guys out there who will be impressed by your wit and mesmerized by your beauty.

6. DON'T GO WILD.
It will be a good idea for you to go out and have some fun after a break-up. But don't get wild and drink too much. This will not only taint your reputation but give a nagging headache as well.

7. DON'T GET A REBOUND PARTNER.
It is so wrong to get into a new relationship right after a difficult break-up. The relationship has a big possibility of ending abruptly as it is not rooted on love. In the end someone will definitely get hurt.
